my viewpoint on oversee sdudy

Nowadays with the immplementation of reform and open-up policy,more and more chinese students go abroad ,participating in the process of globalization.I think I advocate the sdudents to go further study abroad,which i think is a trend that can not irresistable.

for the globalization of every aspects of our life,for the backwordness that we tightly shut door before 1978,we need to communicate and exchange with other countries,I think go to study abroad is a very important way to learn from the foreighers .of course ,I think the foreighers can also benefit from our fast development at the same time.

without no doubt ,we are lagging behand compared with many developed countries,fortunately we chinese is a very deligent nation .we can learn from them ,in technology science ,physics,chemical engineering ,psycology and so on and so forth,which I think with many years of study will become part of our country one day.

when in college ,I often heard that the national oversee foundation adminstration can send a large amount of students abroad ,and the number is increacing year by year.so the policy is very open and encouraging .many of the students come back to china with ample knowledge.while they also realize the importance of going abroad and found organization of their own that can serve for the students who are willing to go abroad.

I think there are several advantages for the students go abroad .firstly ,they can learn languages ,the vivid enviroment abroad can improve their language ability dramatically while we can not make progress so fast if we study domestically.secondly ,we can learn science and technology that can become part of our national strength ,this point i also refer in the paragraph before.thirdly ,i think the students can become more independent in the abroad,which i also think very important in their future career.of course ,there are also disadvantages at the same time because every coin has two sides,while i think the advantages far outweighed the disadvantages.

In conclusion in a word,i think in order to actively participate in the competition globaly we very urgently need to study abroad .

With the boosting average level of finance of our citizen and the broadening of the educational horizon, it is natural that more and more students and their parents choose to get further education overseas. I would point out that there are two kinds of students who choose this road, one is to seek the high academic platform or the outstanding experience circumstance, the other is the students in middle school or undergraduate who recognize that they are lack of competitive capacity in the national examination or finding a job so that they try to get a oversea degree which is the point they believed will be much more competitive.

No matter what the motivation you take, your goal is the most important. You would better design the time you get the degree, get the knowledge of the job-finding market in the domestic and abroad. Or if you want to develop your academic career, your first assignment is forecasting the future of your area and the reputation of the university’s teachers and labs you fall in love with. Moreover, what major you are interested in and which country has the best circumstance and academic level about this major, both of which are essentially affect your future during and after the education. While you make the decision that you want to study abroad, another focusing question is which country you will choose. This is highly relative with your economic strength and how much do you want to pay for it. The total account is in some extent determined by your discipline. In general, the liberal art seldom have scholarship which including fellowship, TA and RA, so when you apply these majors, you need consider your financial status. Referring to the science and engineering course, most of them offer considerable financial aid if you are excellent. To satisfy their requirement, you need weigh your academic ability, which is measured by the GPA, papers and awards, also, the standard examination of English is another core index to influence whether your application is admitted or not.

So in the rational applying, you should understand three steps, the rational determination you will go abroad or not; the rational determination which country or countries and which universities and majors you will choose; the rational preparation before you deliver the materials. Studying aboard is another form of investment, everyone would not expect the result that the account of investing is more than out growth or maybe without any fruit. My opinions about rational study abroad

Well, generally speaking, study abroad rationally means matching your ability (both mental and capital) with your goal and your situation neatly, thus you can achieve a success in the school abroad and your life. You don't have to be rational all the way, cause it does need some passion to make the decision to study abroad, to fight for yourself in a different country. However when it comes to whether or not you fit it, you have to take your capability, your purpose, and your plan for your career and life into consideration all together rationally. That is, do you have the command of the very foreign language or skill needed, can you follow or deal with the lessons and life there, how do you expect to claim your independence, in what way can you support yourself, and how much do you know the education system and your life would be there.

Many students fell into a false college, and suffer a great lost on both money and time. Some cannot follow the life there, they got problems in adaptation issues, and become confused. Some over estimated themselves, but even can not speak to the foreigners. Some got to work day and night and delay their study. Some even misled themselves and got nothing abroad but failure.

Since you can not change your idea once you have been there, you have to be rational at the very beginning when doing such consideration. That means you have to get as much as possible the information of your targeted foreign school and the foreign country, as well as the clear knowledge about yourself. After that you have to consider how can you continue your study without interruption. It is important to ensure a situation suitable for you to live and study. And beside that, you have to know how exactly your studying abroad can “gild” you. 您好！这是我对于"理性留学"的理解：

It is a social phenomenon at least in China that high school students, provided that their parents can and are willing to offer money for their children, will go aboard for further study. Or college students, in order to get a good job offer in the future, choose to study abroad once they graduate. Telling from my personal experience, I believe that students should think over this issue before they go abroad.

People take it for granted that once they come back to China from a foreign land, they have advantages at least in speaking a foreign language. However, it is a misunderstanding. According to cognitive linguistics, there are three types of language learners: passive, neutral, and active. These linguists conclude that how well a person can speak a foreign language depends on their willing not on their surroundings. In this case, a student in China also can surpass a student studying in a foreign land in speaking English. As to these students, who want to have a better job in the future, going abroad is also not the best solution. During my job hunting days, I disillusion one fact that it is not important whether you graduate from the best university or not. It is important that you really have the ability and you are fit for that job opening. Therefore, if a student wants to have a better knowledge about his interested field, it is fine to go abroad. However, if he just wants to have a better "background", it is a failure for him to go.

People argue that foreign countries, especially US are better places for further study. I hold a different view on that. In order to analyze, I choose three countries where most students will go for study: Britain, Canada, and US. People acquiring an offer from Oxford or Cambridge in Britain, beyond doubt, should go. But most people just "buy" a certificate from the second or even third rate universities. They spend half a year in adjusting themselves into a foreign land and another in preparing dissertations. In other words, they leave once they are accustomed to it. Canada is famous for its amount of Chinese immigrants. I heard from a friend that he spoke no English in Canada because all people in the lab, including the professor are Chinese, and they live in the "China Town" where they do not need to speak English at all. He said sometimes he wondered if he was living in Canada or China. Among all the countries, United States is a better choice. But it is not easy for Chinese students to go. In my class, one third or 20 students took the GRE test, but only 3 of them got the offer from American universities. One has a big scholarship, and another gets none. Because the exchange rate, I wonder how can her parents afford the money for their child to study abroad. Other students have to give it up because the time for applying schools and the time for job hunting overlap. One extreme case is that one student got no job offer and entered no universities after he graduated because he missed the chance to hunt jobs when he applied schools and while he knew no schools gave him offers, there were no job openings.

To conclude, before they go abroad for study, students should know the risks they are going to take. And they must know a Chinese idiom that "All is not gold that glitters. But gold will glitter forever."

在我看来，的确近年来留学的格局已经发生了很大的变化。几年前身边比较多的是初中毕业就出国留学的人，而今大学毕业再选择出国进一步学习的学生占了很大一部分比例。尽管大家都知道目前也有很多的海归、海待派，但还是认为出国留学是很必要的。一般来说，只要家庭条件可以承担的，都会愿意选择让孩子在国外学习一两年后归国，这样无论是外语水平，还是专业知识地位都会无形的提高。

不得不说，对于中学生出国留学我并不认同，这是很不理性的。毕竟国外是一个相当陌生的环境，在小孩定型的时期，独立生活对他们还是有一定难度，一个陌生的环境和生活的艰辛很容易使孩子产生心理问题。

理性留学应该建立在对自我的了解，自我适应环境的能力以及外语水平等等之上。相对独立的大学生很自然的成了理性留学的主体，而且现在大学生考托福、雅思等都已经成为了潮流，很早就开始为出国做准备，除就业、考研外，出国成为了新的就业方向，这个现象的确是很有代表性的。

现阶段所讲的理性留学，绝大部分是针对自费留学了，近些年以来，自费留学占了国内出国留学的至少90%以上，自费留学生在选择留学国家、留学专业，乃至海外的衣食住行等方面都拥有广泛的自由，面对这些自由，唯有以理性的态度驾驭，才能享受自由而不是为自由所累。留学是需要一定条件的。自费留学生所需基本条件大致包括外语水平、资金数量和海外学习、生活能力。只有具备了以上这些基本条件，并根据个人的根据自己的学历、个性特征专业背景、制定好科学的方案，才能够为自身未来的职业发展带来增值，而不是仅仅凭借眉毛胡子一把抓，幻想着只要出去了以后作为“海归”就会有广阔的就业前景和市场。简单的说就是要知道：自己为什么出国；出国要达到的目标是什么以及怎样才能达到目标。从目前的状况来看，国内关于留学方面的信息渠道已经越来越多，但是就一个普通人来说要作到很好的了解和分析个人留学的全部状况还是比较困难的，通过留学机构以及留学顾问的帮助来制定符合个人状况的留学规划还是比较适当的方式。
